In 2007, at the age of 26, Camelia Croitoru found her dream job. She was initially convinced by one of her best friends that just got a job at Romanian Airport Services to come for an interview the next day for check-in agent at Baneasa Airport.
Q: How did you decide to get a job as a check-in agent for Romanian Airport Services?
A: When I first heard about the job from my friend I wasn’t interested at all, but thought to go and see what it is about. At the job interview I was told that I could come for a few days at the airport to sit behind a RAS check-in agent and after decide if I would like to work with people or not, as I was doing a degree in Horticulture.
Q: What determined you to stay for all these years?
A: I loved to learn what was going on behind the scenes in an airport. Helping the passengers gives me a sense of fulfilment and happiness, and the strong collegial atmosphere at RAS is great. I met a lot of wonderful people.
Q: How does it feel to be a mother?
A: I wanted to be a mother for a few years now, was a bit difficult, but now I am blessed with a lovely little girl that fills my days with joy and love. I want to devote myself to her as much as possible before I come back to my first love, aviation.
