As the airlines have opened new destinations, increased the frequency of flights and lowered the ticket fares, the passenger traffic in Romania has increased considerably in 2014 compared with 2013.
The total number of passengers handled in all Romanian Airports in 2013 was 10.802.047. The year 2014 closed the balance with a total number of 11.775.489, meaning an increase of 9.01% from the previous year. In general aviation, the traffic has increased with 12% since the Schengen Multiple Entry/Long-Term Entry visas have been accepted as entry permit in Romania, starting with February 2014.
